This weekend we went to Heiloo. While in Amsterdam there was no snow, it was totally white there!

Finally went to Nederlands Instituut voor Mediakunst last weekend.

A great and big location, and promising exhibitions in the booklet. However, most was not really my cup of tea – very weird exhibitions!

Last week, we were invited to come to the Dutch Media Professionals Rethinking Media “Show me the money” Congress.

I was in the “Kies je niche” (choose your niche) panel with Gonny van der Zwaag en Jean-Paul Horn (iPhoneclub.nl). Erwin Blom asked us how we started up our niche travelblog network Spotted by Locals, and how we made a business out of it. Many good questions from the audience too!

My mother threw her 60th birthday – moving back to Holland party with 70 best female friends.

For those who know my mother – above invitation card (made by Boekvorm – info@boekvorm.nl) is very appropriate…

Ria’s keuken did the catering – like she did on our wedding day. Great food!

I was here 2 weeks ago:

Really nice congress at V2 with artists, city planners, techies and commercial people talking about Augmented Reality. Also Claire Boonstra of Layar was there. Too bad she didn’t mention our Spotted by Locals Layar application!

Visited Rotterdam last Sunday with my brother. Finally had the chance to see some great Spotted by Locals Spots!

Bammetje - Yummie breakfast

Bazar – Great lunch. Try the Borek / burek

De Witte Aap – Not so lively during the day, but cosy. Expensive beer!

Kiem Foei – Chinese, Antillean, Suriname snacks – we sampled all cultures – all good!

Mama – Nice art center, but this exhibition was not my cup of tea

Tent / Witte de With- Very cool exhibition on Moralism – HQ videos, nice staff!

And we also checked out the fancy place Dado, where Jules Deelder was supposed to be dj-ing. We were too early I guess.
