My friend just launched his website – very nice one I think!

Check it out – Boekvorm Grafisch Ontwerp Amsterdam

Finally went to Nederlands Instituut voor Mediakunst last weekend.

A great and big location, and promising exhibitions in the booklet. However, most was not really my cup of tea – very weird exhibitions!

We visited the Stadsarchief in Amsterdam (check out this article by Amsterdam local Patty) today. There was a very cool “New York Perspectives” exhibiton; Amsterdam viewed by 4 local New York photographers.
And what a very cool building this “Amsterdamse School” building is… Visited the basement with the vaults for the first time today. Check out this photoset for a few more pics.

Last monday, I went to Cinemanita @ Nieuwe Anita. Great movie about Hunter S. Thompson.

Here’s Johnny Depp (who was the narrator of the Hunter S. Thompson stories during the movie) doing a great imitation (I know now) of him in one of my favorite movies all time: Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas.

Of course there’s also an article with details about the place on Spotted by Locals Amsterdam!

Last week, I skated in Holysloot and Randsdorp, close to Amsterdam.

Almost every Amsterdam local dreams about skating on the ice on the canals at least once in his or her life.

It was almost possible in Amsterdam, until a stupid Meijers rondvaartboten captain (who didn’t know the Keizersgracht was closed off) destroyed the ice.

It’s a hot topic on the Amsterdam Centraal blog. Even the Skipper replied, and apologizes on the website! Very funny to read (in Dutch)

Yesterday, Melkweg, Amsterdam. Cool concert! All day I’ve been mumbling “buma in m’n zak, movin’ on up…” and I have no idea what it means.

Friend Willem Doorman, a location manager for movies, tv and internet-commercials, took us to the latest movie he did the location-management for: a dutch movie called Tiramisu.

It was quite busy, but besides us, there was only one male visitor. During the after show drinks at Grand cafe Belgica Leidseplein(what a shitty place by the way: don’t go there) we concluded it’s quite a pleasant movie, positively different from other Dutch movies. And not for women only…

It plays in the pleasant movie theatres Ketelhuis and De Uitkijk.
