Buddhist hell displayed at Wat in Phayao
Last weekend we stayed in Phayao, about a 3 hour bus ride from Chiang Mai. We haven’t found the evidence, but supposedly there’s a tourist brochure calling Phayao the Vienna of the East. That it’s not (if I would have to make a comparison with a European city it would be Geneva – great lake!), but it’s certainly worth it to go there.
Not one “white nose” to be found, except for some getting in and out of tour buses.

Mae Rim Resort
This weekend, we took our trusted Chinese bikes on their most adventurous ride so far: 30 kilometres north to the Mae Rim resort we booked. Quite a ride!
We felt like we deserved a nice splash in the pool they had promised us on their website. Unfortunately, the pool had a little accident. The view of the waterfall from the bar and the very cheap bears (45 baht for a big one!) made up for that.
